LAMINATED PANELS

SOLID LAMINATED PANELS of 100% carbon/epoxy construction are our most popular and cost effective product line.   These panels are produced using unidirectional carbon fibers or woven graphite in the core of the laminate.  This style of construction produces a panel with uniform thickness, consistent appearance, unparalleled flatness and high durability.  The strength and stiffness of each layer of the laminate closely follows the direction of fiber in that layer.  By varying the direction of each layer of fiber, we can “tune” the physical characteristics and engineering performance of the panel.

QUASI-ISOTROPIC construction orients the individual layers in multiple directions, resulting in a panel that strikes an excellent balance between longitudinal and torsional stiffness.

BI-DIRECTIONAL laminates use a simpler construction: placing the fibers in two directions only.  Because all the fibers are oriented in the 0o and 90o directions, the resulting component is longitudinally stiffer for a given thickness, while sacrificing some torsional stiffness.  This product is frequently used for small parts where large torsional forces are not a factor.
